What the FCUK?

Read carefully. This is signage outside a high-end clothing store in downtown San Francisco. More specifically, this stands for French Connection United Kingdom. As we passed by, we couldn't help but be interested in what this was. Not being a overly fashion-conscious, Banana Republic kind of guy, I had no idea what this was. But I was obviously curious enough to a) take a picture and then b) go in to the store to see what it was all about. Turns out, they're kind of a big deal.

Founded in 1972 by Stephen Marks, French Connection creates well-designed, fashionable clothing that appeals to a broad range of customers. French Connection is one of the strongest brands on the British High street, operating in over 25 countries. With 26 stores in the United States and more than 1500 outlets worldwide, French Connection is a truly global fashion brand.

Who knew? Probably most of you and not me. But, the fact that I was interested enough to make a post about it and visit their website (written appropriately according to the AP) says enough. Enough said.
